Travelling to the island of Saint Martin
Saint Martin is a French-Dutch island in the Caribbean, which is divided into two parts. The northern part is called Sint Maarten and is under Dutch rule while the southern part is called St. Martin and is part of France. It is possible to travel between these two parts by boat or plane, but it is also possible to visit them both separately on a single trip.
The island of St Martin is divided between two countries, with the northern half of the island belonging to Sint Maarten (Dutch) and the southern half belonging to St. Martin (French). The airport on St Maarten is Princess Juliana International Airport and it is located on the Dutch side of the island. The airport on St Martin is Maho Beach Airport and it is located on the French side. There are a number of airlines that offer direct flights from major US cities to both airports. You can also fly into one country and out of another or connect through other islands in the Caribbean or Europe.
Saint Martin has something for everyone, whether you want to relax by the beach, explore nature or party at night. If you want to visit both sides of the island, you need two different passports (US citizens can use an enhanced driver’s license). You will also need two different visas, because there are different rules for each country.
